Tips & Advice
With Memorial Day having been the unofficial beginning of the boating season, the waters are going to be a lot busier now. We've all seen the news stories about boating accidents; to avoid becoming another statistic, keep some basic boating safety rules in mind.
Use common sense. Know your local and state boating laws, and follow them. For instance, in many states, the penalty for boating while intoxicated is the same as if you were driving a car. Following these simple tips is a good start to a safe & enjoyable boating experience:
- Keep a proper lookout
- Supply Coast Guard-approved life jackets
- If alcohol is being consumed on the boat, designate a sober boat driver
- Comply with all signs & barriers, noting any “no wake” zones.
Before you go out on the water, inspect your boat and trailer to make sure everything is in working order. If your trailer is in need of some new tires, check out our selection of trailer tires. Are you looking forward to the beginning of boating season? Let us know in the comments.
