  In 1994 I replaced my 1989 Goldwings alternator with a Compu-Fire 58500. 26 years and 124000 miles later it developed a oil leak at the front housing seal bad enough to soak the interior of it with oil and leave a four-inch puddle under the bike after each ride. I could have replaced the alternator with a cheap Chinese knock off, but this alternator has given me such good service, I didn't skimp. I always reward a good company by continuing to be a loyal customer. One note with this new 58500. The battery cable post on the new one is 8mm in diameter, not 6mm, so you have to enlarge the cables hole. Be careful. Take your time. This cable end is soft. I used a rat tail file and had no significant problems. These Alternators are excellent quality, and I highly recommend them.
